Music Appreciation

Alright so my dad wanted me to do a little “reflection” back on Binh Gia or Vietnam. And pulling what little “experience” I have on writing opinionated pieces, I decided to give it a little whirl. What I’m basically going to do is “touch” a certain topic that comes to my little 17-year old mind, and it would be like a pro-con comparison between Vietnam and America.

Okay when I go to family parties, someone is ALWAYS watching some type or form of Paris By Night and I’m like “yeah whatever, who cares,” then I see the lady performers come out and it’s like “What are they doing?” Where did that form of dirty, dancing come from?! Eight years ago it was traditional Vietnamese type of music and dancing, although some singers did stick with it. But still, it’s like they watched Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera and copied their “sluttiness.” I’m not saying those Vietnamese singers are sluts, but they could obviously come up with WAY better appropriate moves then what they are doing now.  Cause its just sickening seeing such filthy crappy music, I see enough of it on MTV-when they actually show music.

Although Vietnamese female singers aren’t the only one that are “infected.” The guys are just as funny and retarded. When I was in 8th grade, I went on a trip with my family to Vietnam for the first time.  While I was staying with relatives in Saigon, my cousins borrowed one of those music video tapes from a video store. Curious to see what type of music they have for the new millennium, I watched. About 20 minutes later, it came to this group of guy singers. And when I saw these guys I nearly jumped out of my skin, not because of excitement but disgust, these guys were rapping. It was so stupid and freaking weird! Viet guys should never ever ever ever ever ever EVER rap, EVER!

That’s all I have to talk about for now. If anybody feels like I’m wrong or whatever, feel free to debate with me. I like to argue.

Chaos!
